So I was browsing an online catalog at an archery supply place and came across these broadheads...made since 1946...

Anyone use these? Can you tell me how they fly, mount, and sharpen...?

thanks!

Biathlonman

I've got a bunch of MA3 heads mounted up for this year.  I understand they are similar.

I got my deer with an old Botkin head last year. Nice heads.
is it September yet??

Killed my first deer with a Bodkin head 40 years ago, or so.  Saw some listed on **** a couple of years ago, bought them and put them on some cedars that I made. Shot a nice doe with one of those arrows. Bodkins fly straight and are easy to sharpen, too.

I have a friend that shoots Bodkins with his wheelie bow.  Only broadhead he's ever used for 30+ years.  When I find them, I buy them and send them to him.  More as a joke, than anything.

They are not a heavily built broadhead.  They work fine, especially for small game. They are still available cheap.

Great for small game. Never was able to get a great edge on them.

I have about 8000 new old stock Bodkins if anyone wants any.   :D

I bought 300 "seconds" when Larry went out of business. Never found one that wouldn't fly well, and they are my favorite Turkey head.
Is it too late to be what I could have been?

I was thinking that Bill (Zipper) bought them out!

I use them for squirrel, grind the point off blunt, and hunt away.  Very effective, great on rabbits, too.
