I want to get a pair of these and was wondering how lite they are? Would they be to much for early elk? I bought a pair of Sitka pants and were not impressed they suck in wet wheather and are loud. Thanks for the feed back

I've been using mine for 4-5 years during early season archery and they work fine. Having said that, I wouldn't buy another pair. Butt ripped out first day I used them, was packed in several miles so that was not a good thing. Sent them in and it took the entire season to get them back. Now there seems to be a new rip everytime I use them. Constantly sewing up holes. I am switching to green Filson whipcord pants. Still light but very strong and cost much less. Just my experience others may be different.

I've been wearing the same material in a shirt for fall elk hunting.  I also wear wool pants, but  little heavier than the Bun lites.  Definitely not too much for early season imo.  Wool does a good job of regulating temperature during warm weather as well as cool.

I've owned the Bunlites and they are an outstanding lite weight wool pants, however I would not wear them for early season elk hunting as the pants will absorb the water of early morning dew.

I've used Sitka pants for an elk hunt and I thought the pants worked out great.

I have them and use them a lot. I usually pack my kuiu or microtex pants and the bunlites for the cooler/colder days elk hunting. I would rate them as midweight , not really lightweight. Certainly lighter than the bunwarmers I had.

I like the material & pattern, the fit and features of them. I did have the bottom of the legs tailored for more taper & a pocket ripped the first day I wore them. I had that fixed myself also.

I wear them a lot during the der season also.

i have 2 pair of them and the newer with carbon fibers takes much more abuse.I am wearing them in all weather conditions and in the mid day hours they can be hot if you climb,but I am been said that if you layer them with silk you willbe still fresh.
They are been great in the heavy rain and snow I had inthe end of the season. I tryed a pair of Sitka Ascent pant and they were really confortable but I found them too bright and light in color in a overcast day before dark,they look to shine. The wool adapts its color depending on the light conditions
