I have a one piece bow that has snakeskin limb sensation covering. During turkey season I installed cloth camo tape over the limbs. What's the best way to remove the tape goop without destroying the snakeskin covering?

Goo Gone (WallyWorld)should get rid of residue, but I don't know what it will do to the covering.

Be REALLY cautious with Acetone... It can affect certain finishes in a bad, bad way.

Some of the safer alternatives are Goo Gone, Goof off etc.  they are generally much less aggressive but do the job well.

On stuff like tape residue, I would whipe some on liberally,  leave it sit for a few minutes, then wipe off... repeat as necessary.

Tape residue is a result of the tape curing. I would proceed carefully by trying a small amount on a rag in one small, small area. Don't saturate the rag. Here are some products that might work, although no guarantee. White Vinegar, Mineral Spirits, Finger nail polish remover with acetone; Goof Off. Start with the first.  It may take a few minutes. Work in one direction with the scales.

If you dont have any luck with those, which all work great. Ronsonol zippo lighter fluid works to

Stay away from the acetone!!!!!  WD40 might not work the fastest, but it won't hurt any finish.

Try olive oil on a soft rag.  Be liberal with it and give it a rub.

Goof Off is awesome stuff and readily available at the local chain lumber store.   Whatever you use, test it first!!!
