It would be nice if you guys would state whether you are measuring brace height from the back of the shelf or deepest part of the grip throat.  On most of my bows that accounts for at least 1/2" difference.
The years accumulate on old friendships like tree rings, during which time a kind of unspoken care and loyalty accrue between men.

69 grizzly 8 1/4, think brace height should be measured from deepest part of your grip.

My Quinn Stallion shoots best at 8" also..Black Widow PTF is at 8-1/4".

Wow and I feel bad if I have to take any of my bows over 7 1/4 for good stability. I knew that many of the older bows have a brace of 8 plus,. specially in the lighter weights , but didn't realize so many of the new models did.
Interesting thread.

God bless, Steve

I measure from the inside of the grip and was shooting again today the bow never shot this good for me before its like a new bow.
I took out my 62" Morrison Shawnee shoot great at just under 8" love it.

8" is awesome!!!

Doubt the bow has encrypted some type of preferred brace ht. for your set-up...

Would be more inclined to believe the bow may be shouting out its preferred BH per your set-up.

My 64" Blacktails are all right around 8".  I'm slightly over the recommended range but find the little extra brace height really quiets down the bows.

dad

My Bob Lee with 62" limbs is 8 1/8 and is quiet.

Dirtybird

Beautiful bow Gary.  With your breathtaking arrows you should be in good shape.

Gary, at 8", you are beyond what Bob Morrison recommends for his Shawnees.  You may want to talk with him before you settle on it as your new "normal" for that bow...
