I'm wondering how the KOM wool pattern works...  The darker pattern/ woodland Camo I believe it is called...

I'm guessing the blowdown would be better in a tree right? Lighter colors etc.

I can't seem to locate any of the lighter pattern, but have some items with teh darker green colors, and am wondering how well it works...

I've been looking into ASAT and predator items too.. Those seem real nice from what I read..

Any thoughts?  Thnx
Blessings,
Steve

I have a Bowman Jacket in the darker camo.  I suppose in theory you are correct the lighter might be better against the sky, but maybe the darker is better if you are back up against the tree.  I really like the jacket, not sure if the color matters or not.

I bought mine used and took what became available in my size.  If I were to order a new one I think I would have gone with the lighter color, it does seem more versatile...still not sure it matters for most situations.

I have a Bowman jacket in the blowdown pattern. I absolutely love it...especially after the leaves have fallen. The colors match very well against white oaks or poplar trees especially.

I have and like the blowdown pattern as well.  The autumn color is a bit dark for my tastes.  Works OK in the black timber out west though.

I use the blow down for snow camo, mine is to light colored  for regular hunting . I have the autum brown in a shirt and a bowman that I use mainly for all around hunting . The blow down sticks out like a sore thumb in brown or green terain.

I agree.  I couldn't justify the price of a new one so just bought what came up in my size on the classifieds.  Either color is going to have some condition where the other   might be better but as usual it probably comes down to movement, or lack thereof, being a lot more important than color.

Save yourself the headache of dealing with the people at KOM and buy some Silent Predator wool instead from Bernie Parsons in PA. He is a top notch guy to deal with,I have both kinds of wool and will only buy SP from now on.

I second the recommendation on Bernie Parsons in PA. He was a long time rep for KOM and finally had enough. The KOM, brown, woodland camo pattern worked fine for me in Texas and Oklahoma. Stay in the shadows and you should have no problems. The biggest problem I had with KOM was weight and price. It is just not cold enough where I hunt to justify the expense. I now layer with Asbell wool and stay plenty warm on the cold December days that find me chasing whitetails and pigs.
