I just purchased a new string from one our fine sponsors but am having trouble and could use a little help. The new string is an 8-strand, the old one is a 10-strand.  I set the brace height and nocking point for the new the same as the old.  Arrow flight is great with the old string, not so much for the new.  They want to fishtail. I adjusted my nocks to eliminate that potential issue.  The only difference at this point is I haven't added string silencers to the new one yet.  I'm at wits end. Any suggestions?

Sounds like just going 2 strands less has given you a performance boost and made your arrows a little weak spined. I had the same thing happen but I went from 10 to 6 strands. Only 3 things to do. Raise your brace height as high as possible with that string, reduce point weight or trim your arrows a little bit at a time till you get good flight again.

Yep, try a lighter point if you have one and it should tell you a lot. Once you've determined if that is the issue you can overcome it as mentioned above.

Thanks fellas!  I didn't think about this as a spine iissue.   :banghead:   I will try and stiffen 'em up a bit.

I think string silencers will stiffen up your spine too.  If you're gonna use them anyway, put them on now.  IMHO  Cheers

Put the silencers on.  2 strands isn't normally going to make a difference, if everything else is the same.
