This thread is to honor the landowners who support our passion. The ones who give permission and may not even be a hunter themselves. They are just as important to the sport as the hunter is. For the last two seasons I gained permission to hunt some land in Ohio. Not only did this particular landowner give permission but he assisted me in hanging stands, clearing trails, and allowed me to stay at his home after driving me nine and a half hours from Myrtle Beach and back again.
I had the gift, the honor, and the pleasure of becoming friends with a great one. Yesterday we lost him to a massive heart attack.

Wow Damon, sorry to hear that. I know you said he was a really good fella. Condolences.

Bud B.

Sorry to hear that Damon.

Wish I owned alot of land. It'd be open to as many as it could support for hunting. Especially dad's and kids for their first hunts.

I was not the big lotto winner, unfortunately.

Damon sorry to hear that.  I know exactly the type of person and what you are feeling.

I had access to 400 acres of pure heaven and lost the land owner the exact same way.  He was a good man and a pleasure to talk with even though he wasn't a hunter, he was a farmer and knew his land better than anyone.  I wish I would have stopped in a little more. Hindsight is always 20 20.

Again, sorry for your loss.
Relax,

You'll live longer!

Thanks ya'll His name was Larry Horn and he was 60 yrs old. He had a new grand baby and another one on the way and he had recently found out his wife of 40 yrs., has cancer. He was the type of guy that would give his shirt for a complete stranger and he was a faithful Christian so any Prayers for his family are welcome. Thanks again!

Damon, that sux man!! I know you saw some monsters there the last couple years and even had a chance or two. Sorry to hear, I wish his family the best!! I have a good landowner or 3 that allow me to hunt. One has 135 acres bow-only another 350 and yet another around 75 or so, I thank them each season with a small gift. Shawn
