I must admit to being a little on the slow side when it comes to understanding spine and pickin out arrow. Ten years ago when i went trad my bows were 64-75# it makes selection easy, get the heaviest thing u can so 2419's it was. Now im shooting a mohawk sparrowhawk 55# and a quillain patriot 58#. And cant for the life of me get an arrow to work with bow. I draw to 29 arrow length is 30 200-250gr head any help. Guess.

i use it as a starting point then cut the arrow to the lengh i prefer then mess with point weight on bare shafts till iget good flight.with all the ways to add point weight these days you can usally make what every head you prefer to work but i always start with the stiffer arrow  choice

normf

I use a 2117 or a 2020 with a lighter point on my longbows. 2219 is a good shaft but you might need to leave it long. Use hot melt glue on the inserts and start long then you can remove the insert and trim back 'til they fly right.

What arrows have you tried so far?  Are they showing weak or stiff?  Or are you having some other problem?

Bladepeek

If your Sparrowhawk shelf is cut as mine was, it's not center cut. I was shooting 30.5" .500 spined arrows with a total of 225 - 250 gr up front and they flew great.

My arrows have always tuned perfectly using that chart with various setups.

I have used their chart recently and it was pretty close to what I ended up with. I think Normf is right about the 2117. They are favorite arrow and very versatile.
