Okay guys and gals, I'm looking for ideas for holding one or two heavy bowfishing arrows to the side of my recurve bow that has no inserts installed in the riser. Some type of a simple bow quiver but one that holds only one or two arrows. I use an AMS adapter with rubber straps attached to my bow for use with my spincast reel mounted in the front of my bow below my hand.

Looking for homemade ideas as well as commercially available items.

Here's my setup. Let's hear your tips/tricks!

I had thought about something similar to that, like an old clamp-on style Kwikee Kwiver.

Thanks for reinforcing the idea.

Any others?

We make a Mini Clip which is two grippers that clamp on the fadeouts. They can be for 3, 4, or 5 arrows. We also make a two arrow Mesa that works for bowfishing arrows.

We have also made a one arrow hood specifically for bowfishing, but have not added it to our website.

Cool, Don. I'll have to check it out on your website. Thanks!

If I had a choice between the old slip-on type or Don's, it's a no-brainer. Get Don's.

I carry spare arrows in a back quiver.

For downtime between shooting fish....I put a strap on quiver with the hood and arrow holder on the shelf side of the bow....I stick the arrow I have on the line in it.  I use an AMS reel so handle precludes putting the strap on quiver on the appropriate side.

It works pretty well.  Keeps the arrow handy, but, admittedly doesn't carry very comfortably (I walk the banks a lot).

Never question a man's choice in bows or the quality of an animal he kills.  He is the only one who has to be satisfied with either of those choices.

Don, I couldn't find the "Mesa" on your website.

The BW solo will work for one, maybe even two

Here are some I bought a few years back but would be very easy to make!

Hope this helps.

Here's my bow fishing scheme, little homemade stitched leather hood for the top, tied to the bow:

"piggy backer" arrow gripper, with a hole drilled through it for a lacing or zip tie, attached to bottom limb:

Total cost: about $3 for two piggy backers, and I made the hood with a little scrap leather. Here's the whole deal:

It works great for me, and took about 30 min to make.

Fish Finder

I wear a waterproof fanny pack style bag when I fish and I just stitched some bungees to it and I bungee two or three extra arrows to it. Works like a charm.

My AMS has a one arrow deal to attach it too. For a spare I would use a 1" piece of PVC drill holes add a piece a rope and throw it over my back like a quiver, put end caps on it and it will float if ya happen to drop it or take a dunkin! Shawn
