Howdy Guys, I am in the process of working up some shafts for a new bow. My question being? How much influence will a 100g brass insert + 50g srew adapter have on the spine of a shaft if epoxyed into the shaft? Will this act as an internal footing?

The situation being, recurve 58# @ 28 drawing about 28.5 - 29" = about 60lb actual draw weight. Now I have been playing with some bare shafts in an effort to find a good FOC with about a 650 - 670g shaft.

First shaft 5575 400 spine, GT Trad 30.5 long with 150g insert weight with a total of 350g point weight, this totals 2.5" inside shaft and epoxed in. Will this change my dynamic spine much? The reason being 2nd shaft 7595 black GT 340 spine with weight all on the outside of shaft with no internal insert weight shows weak when bare shaft tested. Seems weird that the 400 spine bare shoots better than the 340 hence my question. My trads are shooting ok bare just nock high.

Waiting for some more arrow weight and a couple of 300 spine shaft so I can continue the EFOC build up.

All help appreciated, cheers Macca.

May wish to consider the following:

Nitro Stinger – 'Orange' - .250 spine
Length ~29 ½"
Insert – 100 grain
Point – 300 grain
FOC  - 30 %
Total ~655

Note: Typically experience improved results with shafts dynamically spined ~ 15# under
..........May consider opting for the 'Green' if desiring a .225 spine and a minimal wt increase...8.0 vs 8.4 gpi shaft

Well I recieved my 300 spine shafts and had a play and barshaft shooting was good out to 40 metres with 400g point weight with Powerflights and FMJ 300. I think if I am to get the FOC I wish for I need lighter GPI.
