I understand that Gordie Mickens (and if I'm correct, Duane Jessup - Thunderhorn Bows) used to produce some nice bows under the Selway name.

I also understand that Gordie went on to sell the bow end out to Jim Neaves and this was the start of Centaur.  Selway continues to make fine quivers and accessories.

Looking at a Selway longbow to buy.  Does anyone know if they are FF capatable?

Any input on Selway bows in general would be arreciated!

Sorry.  Specifically referring to the Lil Shooter longbows.

Thanks!

I saw them alot at shows years back. They were very nice. The little shooter is a more of mild R&D style. He built that magnum later that Centaur is building.

You dont hardly ever see the Lil shooters for sale.I am sure he built quite a few though. They had a good grip and looked like superb bows. The bowyer was a really nice guy and I shot 3-D with him once.

I never owned one.But liked the style of the bow.

FF is probably okay on that bow?I cant say for sure though. You may ask Jim Neaves that question. If you shoot other than FF.A well made 12 strand B-55 would be a good choice IMO.

I think Red Chavez made some of them also. My brother had one with checkered riser that was really nice.

I've been shooting my selway lil shooter for ten years now.  They are definately FF compatible.  Mine was made by Jim Neaves and I ordered it from Gordy Mickens at Kalamazoo.   He made it for Selway.  He refinished my bow last year and showed me the records from when he built it.   They are wonderful bows and mine shoots every bit as good as my Centaurs.  Its just a glass bow so its maybe 8-10 fps slower than my carbon bows.   Highly recommend them.

wahoo

I have a magnum which is a great shooter . I think all the Selway bows are great shooters and believe they are ff ready. You could contact either Gordy or Jim and they would be happy to help you - both are good guys .

I agree - I have dealt with each.  Had Jim build be a smoking Dark Matter TD (it's the bow on the front page of his website).

Just spoke with him, and he said the Selway can handle anything out there as far as the new skinny stings.  Now to just finish the deal    :knothead:   !!
