something odd.

I was cutting up some antler for buttons and I cam across this funky cavity. It was right in the antler tip of the main beam.

I will give thanks to the LORD because of his righteousness and will sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High.

I heard that fly's could lay larvy when in velvet and cause all kinds of wicked holes etc when the antler hardens..Not certain this is the case but makes one wonder...

I have seen several times, I think it is from when the core hardens but growth is still occuring.  very cool.
