How about a coyote hunt in CO?  Could mix in some fishing too and whatever else is in season.

I"m in...again, with hopes for better luck this time. Can't wait for this to unfold.

October 1st here in illinois whitetail, turkey, squirrel is open, and could do bowfishing at same time.  We have corps ground Lake shelbyville, with camp grounds and group camp grounds.  Not as fun as chasing hogs, and I know the non resident tags are little pricey.

The small game hunting in Canada is OUTSTANDING! My hunting buddy and myself went into Canada out of Sault ste. Marie back in 2006, headed north on 17  and camped in a tent in a campground. The Grouse were like Mice on rice!  When you saw one you saw 4, 5, 6 or more most of the time. The bush is THICK and we only saw one other hunter the whole time we were there. him and his wife were hunting Grouse with .22's. I paid $89.16 for a non-resident tag then I'm sure it has went up since then.

Forgot to mention, we used our bows and weren't even questioned at the border about them.

Im seeing a lot of great ideas, but one thing that needs to be considered is the time of yr in conjunction with the hunt, as going North in the harsh winter months is gonna be coooooold (BRRRRRRRRR) with lots of snow.
Timberking, what time of the yr. did you and your buddy go?

February in the south is always nice temp for sure.  Still hoping for some javalinas.  That country can be break taking.

I agree, February is great because we all are depressed because most Deer season closed and alot of the guys whom do trad stuff for living can break away.  so that look's like south for weather.  but if we are looking at "pre-season" hunt like august or early september then canada or north might be good as well.  Hard to beat hogs or Javy's for the chase and fun.
