Side Quiver with Carry Strap....Any Instructions on How to Make One?

Hey all,

I am curious to see if anyone has made themselves a quiver like the GF Asbell GFA or the Great Northern Sidekick.  They look like just a regular bolt on quiver used on compounds with a shoulder strap added for carry.  I know they are nicer than that, but they don't look like they are that complicated.
Has anyone made themselves one and would care to post information on how you did it or a link to the information?  I think I might like to give it a try.

That's pretty much it, a bow quiver with a shoulder strap. All in all, not a bad idea, but you could make one yourself doing just what you described. Get a bow quiver you like and add a shoulder strap.Personalization is what would make it shine. jmho

Nala, I made one out of a strap on bow quiver a couple years ago. All I did was to cut a piece of buckskin leather about 1" wide & long enough for a shoulder strap, glue & stitch a piece of velcro to each end of the strap. I used a contact cement to hold the velcro in place while I stitched it. I made the velcro long enough so that I could adjust the length to suit me. Then I attached one end of the strap to each end of the wraps already on the bowquiver & was ready to go. It's really pretty simple, Hope this helps. I do like it especially while wearing a day pack hunting. You can make a waterproof covering for your fletching & your'e in busisness. Frank

Don't make one from a great northern strap on!!!!! It only has one long rod which is fine for its intended use but flexes when used with a strap allowing it to bend enough to let a broadhead get loose. I made one I know. I looked down at it while hunting and had a broadhead just touching my lower ribs, one slip and it was all over.

Here is one I made from a Selway, a piece of maple and an old military rifle sling.

I used a PSE compound quiver. I like it because it keeps the aroows in a straight line, nice and flat and low profile.

I just bought a leather tool bolt belt. Cut it in half, and bolted the two ends spaced out on the quiver spine.

After using this one, I would never buy a ready made one.
