I hve recently aquired a new to me Browning Cobra and I need to replace the string. My question is, can I use a FF string on this bow?The reason I am asking is that I already have a FF string but I will need to order a new string if it isnt FF comaptible. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

It's my understanding that the bow tips must be reinforced in order for a bow to use a FF string. Folks who know more than I do will be chiming in, I'm sure, but that is my understanding of it.

I would say no. The Browining Cobra was probably made before it was common practice to beef up the tips. I would get a string from one of the sponsors here on trad gang.

I still use B50 Dacron on my Browning Cobra. Limb tips were not made to handle FF string. Why risk damaging your bow, even with padded loops. Stick with Dacron.

I too use B-50 Dacron on my Cobra.  It may hold up fine to FastFlight - but if it doesn't there's one less beautiful bow in the world.
