internal footer for carbon

the ashby reports tell about good results from an internal footer. i have never heard of such a thing. who uses internal footers. how do you make them. what are they best suited for.

I use brass wieghts from black widow to make the insert about 1 1/2 inch long.If you don't want the weight, screw two aluminum inserts together back to front,cut the lip off the back.Makes the shaft stronger and can increases weight forward.Lot better glue surface.Shafts don't split and inserts say in with heat glue and can be removed.
