Tapered Low Bananas

Seriously what do you think? Tapered carbon shafts w/ low banana feathers. Would the combo be the most effecient ever?

Thinking about treating myself to some premium arrows.

I have no experience with tapered shafts at all... not sure how well arrow wraps fit. I may have to do without.

If wraps dont work for you, you can paint em.

I think the bananas would wrk great.

Regular wraps work fine, but the edge will finish at a bit of an angle. If you're meticulous, you can start the wrap at a slight angle and then they will finish with the edge straight. I'm actually planning on fletching some HH's with low banana fletch's in the near future, great minds think alike!

A good source for banana cut turkey feathers is Magnus. Shoot him a PM. I shoot his 5" low pro nanners on tapered wood and AD Trad lite shafts. They're quiet and do a very good job of stabilizing the arrows. I shoot Simmons Sharks which are not small broadheads. Hope this helps ya and enjoy your new missiles!

I used to shoot nanners on grizzlystik shafts and they flew great. In fact I have been considering switching back to them.

Love love love tapered arrows - timbers or Grizzlystiks - and banana cut fetching! Best combo out there in my honest opinion.

used 'em quite a bit, 4.25" chopped or burnt custom bananas, 75x105 4-fletch, offset and no helical. good stability and speed for me. moved on to a burnt 5.25" full helical 3-fletch, now gonna go back to those 4-fletch 'naners. it's all good. :D

You customized yours, but will three regular low nanners do the job?

I like the look of the banana cut feathers. As for the low banana, I've never tried them... Maybe I should order some!!

i never did like how 3 low naners flew, even after increasing the length to just over 5". 4 is the magic number for me, slight offset only, and fletched at either 75x105 or 90x90.

the quick way to make custom lo-profile naners is with a modified li'l chopper ...

i think each of us needs to experiment a bit, and see what works best with how we shoot and how the arrows and fletching works with our different bows.

Couple of other "features" of low profile nanners are that at the moment of truth, when the tabbed or gloved fingers wrap the string for a stealthy shot...the low profile's taper keeps the fletching well out of the way of your fingers...one less thing to blow your opportunity.

They also nest together better in a back/side quiver, and have a little more separation in a bow quiver.
