Was thinking of making one, but was wondering what leather to use, i have made a few before but are too stiff, i want one of softer leather that will conform to my back as HH did. I have read where someone from Sunset Hill may have a kit but dont have any contact info. Any info as in leather size and weight, and what type of leather, there seems to be many options.  Thanks  Dave

Here is a little something to get you started:

This is the one I plan to make in January. My local Tandy had 6-7 oz shoulders on sale for 19$ through tomorrow.

I made one of these, but the leather was too soft. I ended up reworking it as a quiver for my grandson. I got a kit from Sunset Hill (Nate Steen). I love it! It will last several lifetimes. Here is a picture of my quiver right after assembly.

It is a little darker around the top now since I treated it with Montana Pitch Blend. Just do a search and type Sunset Hill in the member name box, then shoot him a PM.

Nice looking quiver! On the first one you made, do you recall what weight leather you used? I've heard of success with 5-6, but some floppy failures using less than that.
