Why would anyone do that? Why take a chance on destroying a fine and expensive bow? Just Dacron on mine!

So,
If it's not a diamondwood reinforced riser. You can't shoot limbs that are ff compatiable?
I have and had many exotic wood riser bows that have ff limbs. Why not the Tip?
Am I missing something

All the other guys will kick my a**s but I do!
I have a spare pair of non ff limbs that I traded here for a bow and they shootg good. Looking at the tips they have so many layers of micarta that they can handle a ff string,IMO,also the riser made out of 2 different Ebonies isn't ff compatible but I can't see any difference with all the other makers exotic risers that are ff compatible.
Maybe Dave want to stay on the super safe side to don't have any kind of risk.I am sure the bow will overlast me!

I still would not take the chance for a few feet per/second. But that's just me......

I have a custom one of a kind non ff and although I am positive it would handle ff, I do not shoot ff on it, shoots just fine with B50. I have another one of his Africa series that is macassar ebony in the riser and limbs with buff horn tips, it has ff on it, came that way and was made for ff. Had an exoctic riser with ff limbs I got from Beth, shot it with ff and it was abit rough,ie, hand shock, switched to B50 and tamed it right down. For my B50 ones I use 14 strand strings, do not like the 16 strand ones that come with the bows, a bit too big for me. I honestly cannot tell a difference in speed from my ff and non ff models, both kill just fine. My new one will be non ff and it will not get ff on it because I will not take the chance of ruining the warranty, but a modern string with properly padded loops should not hurt as Felix has proven. Each person must do what they believe is right, your bow, you can do what you want with it.

Don't wanna upset anyone but I have a non ff Schafer, walnut diamond wood riser, limbs with horn tips. Went to a ff string and made a world of differance in this bow. Faster, still churchmouse quiet, very smooth no vibration.String has padded loops and believe is an SPD.I have a Fedora not ff, have shot ff strings for 15yrs. still no problems. On Schafer I installed simms limbsavers for recurve bows, and I shoot heavy 12.5 gpi.arrows, silent death. Not telling you to do the same, just sharing what I do. Good hunting and good luck. Gary. Happy New Year and God Bless us all, pretty sure we are going to need it!

Dave told me he only recommends and warrants what he has tested, and he did not test non dymondwood reinforced risers with FF type strings.

I have a SBD string ordered for mine.   You only go around once. Might as well get close to the edge.

Seriously, my Tip is built like a tank. I have no doubts it will hold up.

If I dont see a noticeable difference in performance I'll switch back to B50 and still love it.
