Hey Brian, nice looking bow there, love that Yew !LOL.I found after years Yews just got a feeling like no other wood. When I was a young fella hunting with my Dad he would piont out Yew trees to me telling me how good of bows it made,If I only knew !LOL.I would love to go back and get a truck load.My new to me JD rennaisance is all Yew,Fantastic bow,JDs workmanship is incredible.
Quote from Howard Hill.( Whenever he taught someone to shoot) "Son make up your mind right now if you want to target shoot or hunt as theres a world of differance between the two"

TSP

Ooooo, that's a nice one Brian.  Yew outdid yourself this time, esWesley on your choice of bow designs.  Can't go wrong with those Hill-styles, they're ALMOST as nice as a Hill.      :biglaugh:

P.S.  Good shootin' on the bale, but what can you do beyond 5 yards?

Best!

Tony

Brianlocal3

past 5 yards you better watch out. But if you stand in front of the target you will be safe LOL

And brian i did measure the limb depth on my misty dawn. It has a deeper core than my shelton thats a tad more pounds. Didnt think it ead deeper but it is.

pete p

incredible yew! i like that he didnt put overlays on the tips, id never cover up that yew. the strung profile is awesome, that one has got to be smooth. very nice bow.

Brianlocal3

To are correct Pete, it is very smooth. And James only offers wedges in the Misty Dawn and Vixen, and I prefer it also thank you.

That's interesting Shawn. Thanks for letting me know

That is some awesome looking yew.  My next bow from james will have yew. And white glass. Lol i know its almost a shame to cover up that pretty yew. I just prefer opaque glass

akbowbender

Very nice, Brian!

If you had to let one of your Berry's go, which one would it be?

I need to rattle James' cage to see when mine hits the forms!
Chuck

Brianlocal3

If I absolutly had to, no way around it...it would be the misty dawn and the reason for that is I prefer and always have preferred reflexed over string follow .

So that settles it! You don't like the Misty Dawn! How much you want for it?

Just kidding! I may have to get a Vixen just so I can compare the two myself.
Chuck

I'll tell it to you like this. I'll keep both of these because they fit me perfect, string follows have a softer draw and the release feels different than a backset bow, both of which are good qualities just qualities that I actually don't prefer. I like the stiffer draw from the backset bows. I preferred my NM classic over the Shelton.
