Carbon tuning

I've been shooting wood for years and have no problem tuning wood arrows.
Got the  word from Kirt over at Bigfoot bows that my Sasquatch recurve is about to be built and I want to shoot carbon.
I'm going with heritage  250's. My problem is how do I glue in inserts then undo them to change the arrow length if needed.
Is there a hot glue that will work.

Bohning cool flex would work. It has a relatively low melting point, so it won't damage the carbon when removing inserts.

Another option is gluing the inserts in and then trimming the arrow to length from the nock end.

I use low temp hot glue you can buy at any craft store.   To remove inserts I just screw in an 8/32 screw into the tip, heat up some water in a coffe mug in the microwave, set the arrow tips in the cup of warm water (not boiling) for a minute, and the inserts pull right out.

I use a walmart bag, or others recommend a piece of saranwrap.  It will hold the point/insert in tight enough, and will pull out (by the point) with pliers.  You can then cut the shaft down, reinstall the point, and test again.

If you will use the press-fit nocks that came with the arrows, you can simply cut from that end.

As been stated you can cut from the nock end, if the carbons are not tapered. Arrow Dynamics are tapered and you cut the point end only.

I use the Bohning "Cool Flex" glue, it is just like the "Ferr-l-Tite" but made for carbons (lower temp.) But I usually keep my arrow full length and tune by adjusting point weight, but my long draw limits my arrow length options anyways.
