I found several fresh scrapes yesterday.  I find more fresh scrapes this time of year than any other times.  Get ready, by the middle to end of this week your going to see them on ther feet bumping, chasing, and investigating every doe they come across.  Round 2 about to kick off with coming of the new moon and the big boy's own this one with not nearly as many does coming in all at once.  God Bless

found one that looked fairly fresh while I was hunting this morning.  Most look a little old though.

I had a buddy that would not even bowhunt till december, always swore was the best time.  he had a lot of good luck.  As long as Doe's are in the rut is still on.  With the warm weather that hit here in illinois, the rut should pick back up pretty soon.  I know if I had a heavy fur coat on I wouldn't want to move either.

On Sunday while checking on some stands i saw that the scrapes have just started to be freshened up again. I assume this is to get ready for the second rut to kick in in the next couple of weeks.

On our land here in Northern Nova Scotia, we saw more rutting activity all season, than ever before. We started seeing scraping around Oct. 20 and fresh ones up to this past week. Gun season over now and this week is late bow season, done Saturday 8th.
I'll be removing 2 stands tomorrow and I bet I'll find some fresh activity. We'll see.
