Im sure there a number of our new traditional inductees who wont recognize the name, but for those of you who have been at this for a number of yrs, who still owns and shoots a Rocky Miller bow?

Mark Baker

Among my favorite longbow and the first I ever owned is my Bridger Mtn. Longbow.  I have a couple and will never part with em.

Does anyone know who was the last owner of Rocky's company was.  I know they never really got it up and running.

I shot his Original T/D, then took my biggest buck with his Predator. Excellent bows, real nice guy. When he left the business, I sold the bows. Regret parting with the Predator..super smooth, quick and lightweight.
"Neal...is this heaven?" "No Piute but we are dam close". Top of the Mtn in Medicine Bow Nat Forest.

I have a 1987 Bridger Mountain "Sacajawea" longbow. Matte finished brown glass on the back and clear over juniper on the belly. Looks great and shoots even better.

What limb profile does this model have?  I've seen pics of a few, they look nice.  I have a weakness for old bows not being made any more.

I traded Mark Baker my Bridger Mt. a couple of years ago. Too much bow for me at the time. Enjoy it, Mark!
Had a t/d recurve and sold it a while back, too.
Rocky was/is a good guy, and made some nice bows.

I havent had the opportunity to shoot any of Rocky's bows other than the one i own, but if they all shoot as well as mine, they are a tribute to a true craftsman.

I have a neat little 56" Mountain Bow made by Rocky. Fun little hill style Hill style bow that shoots great.

I have a "Sacajawea" from 1987 also. I've taken some game with it over the years. It's to heavy for me now, but I'll keep it anyway. Nice bows and a great guy in Rocky.

Pat...that bow is now in the possession of my son, Kory....who LOVES it!   I have two Bridger Mtns....I needed a second to "back up" my first in case something ever happened to it.  Later on, I helped Rocky sheetrock his new shop, and traded the labor for one of the Mountain bows.  They are nice shooters, but I can shoot the longer bows better.   I did kill my biggest buck ever with the mountain bow, though!

Rocky offered the biz to me first when he decided to quit building, and I reluctantly refused...did'nt want to make something I loved become a job.   The guy that bought it was Duane Shumacher (I think).  He used to help me when I first began building quiver caddys.  He started with the business in Bozeman, then moved back to PA where he was from, and it never seemed to take off.  He had a little experience working for another recurve builder before that...but he was young and newly married, and who knows what happened...?   Anyway, Rocky was a great bowyer and built a fine longbow.

He also built some Savage Deathmasters, under Bob Savage's tutelage for a bit.  Nice bows too.
