I knew the right answer two years ago but now have forgotten.  Whatever I used has worked great, but I have no clue what it was..  Please tell me what is a good glue for inserts into AD shafts.

The Whittler

Go to Big Jim's site and watch his video on the glue he uses. I think it works great.

I just went to the site that comes up from Tradgang.  I did not find any videos.  When i went to the hunters success videos it would not come up.  Is it a hot glue ?

Yes, it's about as big as 50 cents and a couple inch. high.

You heat the insert while you hold it with your fingers. You don't want it too hot to burn your fingers just enough to rub the insert on the glue stick, insert into arrow, let set and your good to go.

Ted Fry

Best to use JB weld for inserts on Hammer Heads , clean the inside of shaft with a Q-tip and rubbing alcohol before gluing insert into shaft to remove graphite dust.

Similar to JB Weld that Ted recommends is marine grade epoxy, which I think is actually better, but either is excellent. I had trouble with other epoxies and various types of glue breaking down before the AD shafts broke down; however, once I started using marine grade epoxy, I have had no more of those problems, and that is with using heavy arrows (up to 1000 grains) and 70 pound bows and shooting into very unforgiving substances, like rock and hard woods. Ted's advice on cleaning is also imperative to follow.
