Dry Creek

We are headed up to DC for Thanksgiving week. Is there any good or must see trad shops along I-81?
Thanks

When I go on trips and take the GPS, I look up all archery shops along the route.

There is really nothing in southwest VA (between Bristol and Roanoke) as far as a trad shop that I know of. Exit 7 in Bristol is good place to stop and eat, there is about anything you want there.

No problem, travel safe!

FYI Roanoke does have a Gander Mountain right on 81 and Sportsman's Warehouse right off 581. They have both carried a few trad bows in the past.

Sportsman's Warehouse has a few more than Gander.  But really not a good selection.

There's a shop off of Exit 114 that occasionally has a couple.  It is called Whitetail Outfitters.

Lots of outdoors shops in the area, but none specialize in trad.

Good overall archery shop is also at Exit 17  it is called Mahoney's.  But just no trad bows.

Also, like Marc said,  lots of stuff at Exit 7.  There is a Sportsman's Liquidators there that sometimes has some good prices on clothing/blinds (especially if you're a big guy).

Never question a man's choice in bows or the quality of an animal he kills.  He is the only one who has to be satisfied with either of those choices.

I dont know of any but there is a Bass Pro and a Smoky Mt Knife works in Sevierville, TN .

The Smoky Mt Knife works is unreal.   Well worth a rest stop.

Their is a shop with an indoor range at exit 67 between kingsport and bristol. They handle quite a bit of traditional equipment, and are great people to deal with. April and Gary Mumpower,Both traditional shooters. Kris Kustom Archery is the name

Jim,
He is doing fine. Brian told him he will be hanging stands for us in a few years    :bigsmyl:
I got a granddaughter the week before Hunter was born. I see a bunch of youth bows in the near future!
