Is my arrow heavy enough for deer?

I am shooting a Martin Savannah 55# and I currently use 28" 2114's with 150 grain tips and they fly perfectly.  I wanted a little more weight so I picked up some 2117's and they don't fly well at all.  I would love to hunt with the 2114's but based on my calculations my arrow weight would come in around 450 grains.  Is that enough to do the job on a whitetail?  I know I could add some up front weight to the 2117's but I'm not sure that would solve my flight problems.

Thoughts??

Thanks,
Deadeye33

450 is plenty for whitetails. Put it where it belongs and you'll make meat.

Jeff...The 2114 was the late Jack Howard's favorite arrow and he killed a pile of big critters with it. You'll be fine.

A perfect flying light arrow (it ain't all that light for your bow weight!) will penetrate better than a heavier arrow flying not so perfect.

That weight is just fine for your bow set up.

i agree w/ charlie but
i had a 450 gr. gt 3555's with 125 last year and didn't like the penetration i got on the 3 deer and 2 pigs i shot w/ them but if the other arrows don't fly for you you are better off with 450 gr.

LOL, put them in the Arrow Classifieds. Lots of folks here use them.
