I'm sure you were expecting a pic of a deer, but sorry I'm not even close to that yet!
Just a quick story.
Last night was my first physical therapy session since my right rotator surgery 3 weeks ago.
Everything else is healed and good, and the rotator was the final surgery to be done. I've been out of commision since January, too long of a story to post.
Anyway, there I was walking in to my therapy session...with my unstrung longbow in hand! My arm had not moved in 3 weeks. Now, I don't exactly live in the backwoods, so I got some funny stares as soon as I walked in. The therapist says what the heck is that?
I explained that I knew I would be using broomsticks or canes as tools for the first movements of my arm. I then explained my archery history, and how I'd be using my healing bow instead. He okayed it, as long as no arrows came in with it.
So my first movements were with bow in hand!
I'm sure no one gave me a second thought after my initial entrance, but man I felt great...like the spotlight was on me!
The only people who even slightly understood why I brought that bow were my kids...even my wife just gave me a "your insane" look. (but she still brought me and carried my bow to the front door!)
So call me a weirdo, but I left feeling pretty darn good. I've had the bow with me all day so far working a little at a time.
And I filled my black bear hide possibles bag with antler burrs and pieces and have started light curls with it.
You've gotta keep things fun people, why be boring?
Keep the hunting stories coming, I am living my hunting season this year through everyone else's experiences...so post 'em! Any day is a day I'd love to hear about.....

Glad things are going well. It's good that you are even more excited about bowhunting and not getting discouraged. Hopefully I'll have some pictures to post before long. Get well!

Glad to hear that the healing work has begun.  Sounds like the perfect pt tool.
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.

Do the therapy diligently and don't overdo it. I have had both shoulders done-ski accidents. Take your time-lots and lots of stretching, and before you know it you will be making angels in the snow.

Hey, you got a picture of the trophy lift of that bow?  Not all trophies look the same.

David.... that sounds like something I would do.... you must have a little redneck in ya mister!  It has been known to sneak its way north for a select few.  You keep your chin up and keep hammering away at it- you still have a lot of years left with those boys.
