I'm a Howard Hill longbow shooter and have been using the EFA bow quiver with talon for several years. I'm considering purchasing another, but including the totem option for added stability, and perhaps the Wing option. Your comments and input would be appreciated, especially those of you who have used the Wing option on Hill style longbows.Thank you in advance for your help.  :dunno:

Can't comment now, but hopefully soon since I have one with the Wing option on its way.

I have used an older EFA on recurves and RD long bows and liked it very well. I just got a new EFA with the totem and wing and like it even better on my Shrew Samurai. It does seem more stable and stays together when I take it off the bow for travel. The wing option keeps the arrows out of the dirt on the 58" Shrew.
My old EFA is a good quiver, the new one is even better.

I like the wing and wish I had the totem as the two halves tend to walk out on the limbs after a few shots. This is no real concern when I hunt but practice is out of the question. With both you should be very satisfied. Very well crafted!

I had the wing option with my 4 arrow model I bought from EFA. It works as advertised. But, if you are looking for maximum lightweightedness, consider that the wing option adds a good bit of heft to the package. It's metal, after all. If that doesn't bother you, you will love it. I love mine. It's on a 58" Kanati if it matters..

Anyone out there use these EFA options on 64"/66" Hill style longbows? In addition to my older 4 arrow EFA quiver, I also use a quick detach rawhide Selway on my TD "Cheetah". Weight should not be a problem for me.   :help:

Bill,

While it's not the EFA with the options you mentioned I have a Kanati angle Pro quiver so in theory, I guess, it's close to the same thing.  The Kanati is heavier so I will not comment on weight save for the fact the extra weight on the bow doesn't bother me.  The only other thing would be the Hill bows are so light the added weight of the quiver does throw off the perceived balance a bit, but again, I've always shot with a bow quiver so it wasn't a bother to me.

The only thing I really noticed that might prove to be a nuisance is the low clearance of the support beam and the riser.  It was very close.  Yet, after spending some time shooting the bow with the quiver mounted I didn't notice it anymore.  The only other thing I noticed will be a non-issue for you simply due to the different mounting systems the manufacturers use on their particular product.

Pointability, shooting qualities, etc didn't seem to be affected for me on my bow with the bow quiver mounted.  My bow still maintained the pleasant little "Hill thump" at the shot.  I hope this helped you out.  I am looking at getting another Hill bow and am contemplating trying out the EFA quiver exactly like what you want so I would be interested to hear your thoughts as well.

Hope that helps you out.

Thats great Pat. Thanks so much. That makes a great looking rig with your "Cheetah". I was particularly concerned with the stabilizing bar that connects the top to the bottom of the quiver. Was worried about hand clearance. Doesn't appear to be a problem with the angle quiver. My "Cheetah" is a take down model. The added weight should not be a problem for me. As long as its stable and quiet I will be good to go. Thanks for your post.
