I was worried about what Id do with all of the judos left over from the muzzy shoot. And then it came to me while waiting for the family to return from gramps house.I had a couple of hours to burn so I grabbed the new Rio Bravo curve and a quiver full of judos and was off to the rod and gun club. When I got there, the weather was fine for me but a little too early for the big bulls to start humming. In spite of my bad timing I jumped into the canoe and set out for adventure. The first spotted was too small so I passed him.The next was big as a fox squirrel but made it to cover before I could have a go at him.Now number 3 was just as big, I caught him sqare in the back with a 125 grain judo from aout 3 yards and rolled him over.To my dismay when i tried to boat him he was somewhat revived and made it to the murky water before I got a grip on him.I searched by feeling around with my hands but couldnt come up with him.Dejected, I paddled off but had no more sightings. As I came back by the one that got away I saw him again, this time floating and was able to grab him.Amazing what a rewarding feeling came over me from such small game. Two more sightings followed but were unfortunately followed by 2 more misses.Overall, it was a hoot.Ill fry his legs for lunch today and look forward to getting after the ones that got away and then next year when the 500 small ones have grown.

Miss Piggy would be supremely disappointed in you.

I'm not though, shootin' frogs is great fun, challenging too. Good job, even the smallest prey makes for a good hunt.

We do alot of frogging with our bows and have a blast usually 3 or 4 of us will go and when we get enough we will all get together with our families and have a big frog fry.

I use to shoot a lot of them as a kid, but have only been a couple of times in the last thirty. I prefer to shoot them with a target or field point and pin them to the bank. However, if your shooting from out in the water you'd better hurry to get to them. They will sometimes kick and work their way off the fletch end of the arrow.

It's also fun to catch them on a flyrod. Feels like a two pound bass on the end of the line.
