Thats awesome. All the way around. Way to honor your father in your bow too I liked that part best. Congrats on your deer.

Nice Story!  Congratulations not only for taking a nice deer, but for taking it with your own bow!  That must have been exciting!

Nice deer! That will taste great, nice and tender.

Congratulations,
Thanks for sharing.  Any pictures of the bow or deer?
The broadhead used, regardless of how sharp, is nowhere as important as being able to place it in the correct spot.

Thanks everyone! It was a great way to start the season.  I'm looking forward to the rest of the season.  Taking it with equipment I made (with lots of help!) made the experience all the sweeter.  The elk ivory actually makes quite an efficient rest.  It's nice and smooth letting the arrow fly right off.  I have a few more that I might incorporate down the road.  I know the next bow will be a sinew backed Osage making use of this door and any others I am lucky enough to encounter.

Walt, when I get home tomorrow I will post a pic or two of the bow.
Thanks again!
