Just wondering what everyone's carbon arrow set up is for 60-65 pound longbows.

I have shot MFX 400's for years. I am recently trying Heritage 250's that I like veryt much.   BILL

I have about a 27 1/2" draw length, shelf cut to center. Just wanting to get some ideas of what other people are using.

Original AD hammerheads. Don't cut less than 30" add 100gr brass and a nice heavy head. I use a single bevel in the 250gr range.

I agree with some of the other folks. If you're going to use 200 grains or a bit more up front I think the CE Express 250's would do well. If you like I'd be glad to send you one to play with..

Carbon express heritage 350, 100gr. Brass insert, 300 grain head. Total arrow weight is around 800 grains.  And the arrow is cut to 29 inches.  If you want a light weight speedy arrow I'd go with the 250 spine but not sure about insert and tip weight.  It seems like the 250's like about 260 grains up front but I haven't tested too much like that.

Daavid-
I have a 27" draw and shoot a 60lb bow at 28" so i guess im pulling about 57#.  What I found that works for me is a carbon express 350 cut at 29" with 225grn up front, arrow weight is 605 grns.

I'm not familiar with the GT's..

I used Axis and Bemans for years but they don't hold up nearly as well as the CE's on pigs.. Of course pigs are rough on arrows anyway but the CE survive most of the time...

I was asking this because according to stu' s calculator my gt's should be underspined for my bow. I get great flight out of them though so I really don't care what it says.

David,

If your arrows are flying great with broadheads...I'd shoot them. FWIW, for whatever reason, I always end up with carbon arrows way underspined according to the calculator.    It seems to be a little more accurate with aluminum arrows for me.

Mike,

I wasn't gonna change my set up because of what the calculator said. I just thought maybe I wasn't using it right.
