I think the mornings of being cozy in moleskin pants are gone. 32 here right now. Headed out to sit a tree that can be a little blustery, just put on my wool pants for the first time this year. Light long johns, light wool pants, Filson sweater, and my Asbell jacket. I should be ok.

I think I'll quit complaining about it being in the 80's here !!

That sounds cold..  Good luck hunting.

Heck its only 39 here right now, we had people smashing there cars on icy roads yesterday morning. Definately thinking about longjohns.

Those do sound like great hunting conditions!

We had a frost here in Southern NJ this morning and it was a beautiful morning to sit in a stand!

Was 10 yesterday.  Rivers are freezing up fast.

Ha! Yep! It was an awesome sunrise...red in the east thanks to impending rain. There was a thick frost, and it was very quiet. I expected to see a good one this morning, but didn't. Thats ok. Sitting out in the cold watching the world wake up was it's own reward.

I had one of the most beautiful sits of my career in the woods Friday afternoon here in northern MI.  46 degrees, sunny and light NW winds at 7mph. Perfect weather and the trees around my stand were an incredible combination of reds, orange, yellows and purple. I was on stand for just over 5 hours on my second sit of the year, but it flew by.

cold is good. . . kinda.  I can wait on the 32 and below stuff though.  going back up to the UP at the end of the month,  I bet it is colder then.

I hasn't gotten here yet. We have had a few cool mornings but not much below 60. Usually by mid day it is back up to 80's or thereabouts. I'm looking forward to some moderately cold weather, but the serious stuff is just more than I can handle. High 30's or low 40's is about right.

I'll be camping this weekend, so let's hope it gets cool enough that the sleeping bag feels good and the weather calls out for camp chili.

If those are my temps next week in WI I will take it. 2 years during my trip it was in the 80's. that was tough hunting.
Relax,

You'll live longer!
