Saw a bear today....

So, I'm thinking about heading down to the southern part of the state the first week of October and taking a shot at trying to find the elusive Oklahoma Black Bear!  Thought I would take a pack and spend a couple nights out in the woods.  Decided that today would be a nice day to drive down and scout out the area I'm looking at jumping off into the woods at and just check it out a bit.  So I did...it's a bit of a drive so took the wife and daughter and made a day of it.  Found the spot and headed in ... not too far, maybe a half mile or so.  I've got the Topo map and Google earth and will just take my time exploring.  I did get excited when I saw that the trees were heavy with acorns and they are dropping.  Also a lot of berries!!!  Well, we headed out, jumped back in the car and started down the road when what to my wandering eyes did appear.......a nice size black bear loped across the road not 200 yards from where the trail intersected it!!!!  I was pretty surprised!  Thar be bears there!  

Odds are against me but at least it will be fun!!!  Just thought I would share.
