Guys dad was a Christian, for most of his life, and was ready to go, looked forward to leaving pain and misery behing. I am actually relieved for him, though I miss him, and no one wants to see a parent pass, this is life. My wife and I lost our 19 year old son, Reuben, 10 years ago, and that is the hardest thing any human being will ever have to face. We have survived only thru Gods help, and friends and family, who have been there. We still work thru this day by day, and though you never get over losing a child, you get better at dealing with it. A lot of folks in our community, some we knew, some we did not, came forward and related to us, counseled us, and made life bearable. We try to pay it forward by doing the same thing for people who have lost a child. Again, you guys are great, and thanks for all  your concern.

Very sorry for you and your loss.

I understand how it is. I lost both of my parents in '09 and they were in their mid 60s. First mom died of brain cancer and then my dad passed away just 7 weeks later of a heart attack. Very tough year that year.

My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Koger, I understand your loss as I lost my dad in 1977. As time passes the grief also passes, but just remember this - we grieve deeply because we care deeply.  Over time, you will have thoughts of him creep into your mind at most unexpected times causing you to remember how important he has been, and always will be, to you. As you stated, he was a Christian man, so he is now completely happy. God's peace will come to you, also.
Sam
