Box Blinds

I'm looking at making a box blind (for bowhunting with traditional equipment) and would like some ideas.

I'm not really sure how high to put the windows and what size to make them (it will be built on the ground). Any suggestions would be appreciated.

If you have any pictures, please share them. I would still like to see them.

I read an article somewhere about a guy who used old appliance boxes (refrigerator, dishwasher) as a blind...

He talked about the brown cardboard was fairly good camo but he would lay some branches and other natural stuff around the box...

He also put all his gear in the box and dragged it out near a waterhole, I think he was antelope hunting.

This is the best I got, hope it gives you some ideas.

Sounds a  LOT  cheaper than the High Priced "Tent" Blinds!     Good Use for what is considered "Trash"!!     Goin' Green!!

I built two of these for the ranch where I hunt antelope.They are basically 6' cubes.I'm not throwing them out as the best design.I'm sure they can be improved.The first had 12" high windows,the second is 18" and the bottom of the window is 32" off the ground.Forget saving money.The cost will be over $200.When the wind gets crazy here,pop up blinds either collapse or are taken away.We started off with sliding burlap curtains on horizantal wires but the cows shoved their heads through and destroyed them.I then made plywood sliders about 10" wide and you can customize openings or close windows completely.I've used bows up to 60" in them but you could go longer.I intend to add a binocular sized hole on each side at eye level,so I can stand and glass when I'm tired of sitting.
 
 
 
 
 
For sure,I wouldn't make the bottom of the window any higher than 32".Feel free to tweek the design.It isn't perfect but it has allowed me to take several antelope in country with almost no cover or terrain for stalking.
