Anyone used moldable Rat Grip on their bow?

I used to be a target pistol shooter .22 rim fire and it was very important to have a consistent grip. Most of us either hand carved a set of grips that fit or bought a set of adjustable.

That Rat Grip looks interesting, sold by Brownells and was thinking of molding a set of grips for my recurve so that everytime I grip the bow my grip is consistant.

I've always thought of using plastic wood or epoxy putty to build out a dished or locator grip to staight,then put the leather grip over it.Something like this Rat grip might work?

I've built some out with layers of leather, attached with barge cement and shaped with a sharp knife.

Might be good for a metal riser but don't feel good about heating up a wood/glass riser like that.

I've used regular Bondo to build up and reshape some of the grips on my bows.  Not too hard to remove it if you don't like the results.

i've done the bondo too. used it for a while but ended up back at wood and refinished it. worked as intended though.

It's an interesting idea--but I think I like the "building up the grip with leather" a little better as the final product is not so hi-tech. Barge Cement (the original kind/yellow can or tube) works well for this. I have also had good luck with bicycle handlebar wrap which comes in cork, leather or other materials.
