It was 109 here yesterday when I went to the Post Office.  Elk season can not get here soon enough for me!  Heading up to S Colorado in about a month.  Be there for opening weekend.

55 degrees in town this morning when I got up. I'm ready for September, too.

Man, I'm really gonna miss elk hunting this year! Is Rampart Range going to be open to hunting this year with the fire damage?

Was last time I looked but that was a month ago and it's been getting some rain, believe but not hundred percent sure that most of what burned in that area was private.

Various bows, but if you see me shooting, it's probably a Toelke in my hand!

Thanks, old_goat2, that was my "close to home" hunting area when I was living in the Springs. From pics my buddies sent and news coverage it looked like the whole place was burning. I lived and worked very near Garden of the Gods park and have friends who lost their homes in that fire, as I'm sure a few of us did.

Good luck this year to all of you elk hunters! Can't wait for the stories to start rolling in...
