Small game trad hunting?

I enjoy hunting some small game like squirrels, rabbits and birds,but I would like to get some info on how to go about hunting beaver,muskrat,possum, and raccoon.

Out here they hunt beaver in a boat at night paddling around in the delta in the tulies. Its in the middle of winter also. Must have broadheads and no line on the arrow.  Too wet and cold for me. I see possems at night out here all the time calling coyotes . a buddy has called in racoons. I called in one that my brother took. I think hunting them out here might be a little difrent than where your at.  The possum and racoons you need to get out at night. There should be some dog hunters here to help also.

Make sure you check your state laws to start.Some states class muskrats and beavers as furbearers and only allow trapping of them.Not sure about MA.

You need a good light for those species.  Noctunal species can be called in the case of coons.  Beaver, mrats ans opossums are targets of opportunity when you can find areas they are using.  Agree with good broadheads as the last beaver  i got weighed 65 pounds.  I do not see mant rats or possums out here. Check laws as there are seasons for some, and hides are better later on.  I am an avid small game hunter. Mostly cotton and jacks with a few quail but it is rewarding

I agree with checking your local game laws as here in Louisiana and Arkansas beavers are considered fur bearers.

You have to trap for beavers and other fur bearers here in WA.
