Pick up the Wood Grain Gold Tip Carbons, 5" shield cut feathers, and wraps that look like cresting. I've made countless arrows for other disciplines but none for shooting a long bow off a shelf. I've always used Fletch tite with great results. But will it hold up with the constant contact with the shelf on my longbow? I'm building em with a right helical Bitz Jig. Any tips on these trad arrows? Just don't want to waste good feathers if I don't have to in experimenting with glues.

On wood the has been sealed with poly I have had great results with fletch tite and duco.  I've never tried it on wraps though.

Wraps are against my religion so I've never used them. But here is what Onestringer has on his website:

Q:  What brand of fletching adhesive should I use to put my feathers on Onestringer wraps?

A:  We use and recommend Locktite Super Glue Ultra Gel.  it is inexpensive.  You can pick it up at any local hardware store.  It dries clear and fast and holds tight. We recommend you not use Duco or Fletch Tite Platinum.

They're carbon arrows and I like the crested look, but its a lot easier to replace a wrap than to fix damaged cresting.

Tom, I don't fault anyone else for using wraps. They just aren't for me and sometimes I kind of get my nose up in the air about it   :knothead:

I use onestringer wraps on my carbons and fletch with both duco and fletch tite platinum and have never had any issues.    :dunno:

Fletchtite works great on wraps, better than it does on bare carbon shafts.

I love fletching tape on everything. I place a drop of glue at each end. I've used on custom crest to plain and even wraps. Cool thing on wraps when using the tape if your careful and want to take old feathers off you can leave you wrap on. My hunting shafts I crest with care and precision, for target I use Rasta color wraps.

On my onestringers I use the tape as well. Easy to use. Works for me!
