Summer Reading

I am a voracious reader, and am always looking for new books to read...and have my recommendations for anyone looking for something to read;

I just finished Tom Kidwell's "Another Old Bowhunter", and like his first book...it is a book filled with bowhunter stories..not how to's, but folks he has met hunting, and stories about those trips and people...great book!

I also had the pleasure of meeting Brad Isham at the Baltimore Bowmen Traditional Classic..and he graciously signed a copy of his book for me....."The Sound of the String".  I just finished reading it, and enjoyed it immensly and would recommend it to all.....

Anyone else have any new recommendations....post em!

I have just reread John Schulz "Straight Shooting" for the millionth time ...
and have just begun Agincourt by Juliet Barker ... a fine read with tons of good longbow info ...

Brad Ishams book is on my list ...

Just finished Brad's book, "The Sound of the String".  Enjoyed it very much.  I picked up an autographed copy at BBTC as well.

The Deer of North America by Leonard Lee Rue III, and Mapping Trophy Bucks by Brad Herndon.

It's always nice to learn as much as you can about the animals you hunt.

I just added to the collection..I picked up the first two in a series of four books by Angus Donald, a series on Robin Hood..in a little different light than the traditional stories.....they are called the Outlaw Chronicles.

First book is called "Outlaw", and I just started it...pretty good so far...

Ben, I have Bernard Cornwell's book "Agincourt", didn't know there was another one...have to look into that....

I was roving the other day... in the local library... and I found a copy of "Fred Bear's Field Notes".  It's great!

I also love any book related to archery and just ordered four books by David Petersen to read next week while on vacation.

Lee ... unlike the Cornwall book , the Barker book is actually more a factual account ... sounds a tad less exciting than Nick Hook smashing the frenchies but it is so well written that I am actually glued to it . Its a great read and I recommend it highly eh !

Picked up Early Adventures with Howard Hill by Don Carson started reading it today....

Not sure if you have read this or not but I just finished "Bows of the Little Delta" and it has become my favorite thus far. It was really hard to put down.

Another I am reading now is Peter O. Stecher's book "Legends in Archery Adventurers with Bow and Arrow" very informative and reads like many numerous small biographys of the archers of old. Nice book.

And lastly, I picked up a copy of "Once upon a Tine" by Barry Wensel and I am really enjoying this book as well.
