Well it looks like this years adventure will fall in Nevada.  I drew the non resident elk tag for Nevada's Table Mtn Wilderness unit 161-164,171-173.  This will be another DIY/bivy solo hunt and I will be using my 2-piece take down Laclair Super Shrew again.

Currently in the process of gathering information, maps, and reviewing my gear to see what needs replacing, upgrading or repair.  Any information anyone has on the unit will be most welcome!

Life is good!

Congrats!!  Now the fun of the planning and dreaming starts.  Enjoy it!  Looking forward to the report next fall.
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.

I do not hunt that area.  Will check around with friends and try to give you a lead.  This is hot, dry and rugged.  Over a mile high so get in good shape. Coming from the "lowlands" you will feel it.  My cousin from MO hunted a few years back here and he could feel the altitude.

Thanks everyone.  I can guarantee you I will be in shape for this hunt, and my gear from broadheads to toilette paper will be perfected.  The big issue is where to start once I'm there.  I always like to have a few contingency plans in the event the big one isn't happening.

I fully intend on being there from August 25th until the season closes on September 15th if neccessary.

I will definately share with you a recount of the hunt here on Tradgang when I am back, and will hopefully have some backstraps to share with some of you at comptons next year! ;^)
