Light weight bow, what size arrow?

I have a bow on the way from NY (Thanks Paul) sometime in the next 2 weeks and it will be a Father's day present for my 70 year old Dad.  He used to shoot a lot in his younger years and won quite a few tournaments on the coast back when NFAA was big.  Now he is older and arthritis has deformed his hands to the point he not shot in probably over 20+ years.  I still need to find a way that can use a release for his string hand.

So I needs some advices on arrow spine for a light weight bow. His shooting will mainly be target practice in his back yard and some 3D when he's up to it. His draw use to be 28", not sure if that still the case with age and his joint problems. So for estimating let say the arrow will be 28.5 to 29" BOP for a 62" recurve bow 28@28".  Would like to keep the weight down as much as possible for the flattest shooting.

What carbon or aluminum shafts are out there in an economical price that would meet these criteria?

I did do some searching and looked at the Easton Carbon ones where the spine was good and the weight was good but the price was not ($110 dz)        Any help will be appreciated!

Not sure but get in touch with Big Jim.He could help you.My wife draws about 26-28 lbs @ 27".Jim suggested carbon express predator 800s.They fly great for her.

My grandsons are shooting 1716s out of a 30# bow and they fly nice.

Thanks everyone, John I looked at the Predator on Big Jim site and they look promising nd priced right!

And the aluminums are a idea to look into, been awhile since i've shot any aluminums.

X 2 on the predator II's.  Up to .900 spine so you should be able to find arrows to work well with his setup.  Good luck to the both of you.
