Darn good broadhead choices, there.

Hmmm, I'm working on my Easton Axis 600's (450 grains, 17%FOC) with 50 grain brass inserts, 145 grain points, 3 4.5 inch parabolic fletch out of my 44# 60" Super Shrew. Wow it's amazing how similar our set-ups are.            ;)

I'm sure my set-up will get adequate penetration on the gophers on my parents farm this summer.   :bigsmyl:

Ray,

I'll loan you one of my arrows so you can see how it works with your bow. After all, they are both 60" Super Shrews!    :biglaugh:

I have a couple of bows in the 44# range. I like them when I have to shoot hundreds of arrows in one session. Right now, I can only shoot about a dozen arrows from my Super Shrew Samurai that is 68# before my arms and shoulder start screaming and my arrows start spraying all over the target. Of course, it only takes one well-placed shot for a buffalo. In fact, an opportunity for even one shot after a long stalk on a buff is the best I can hope for.

Allan

P.S. Thanks to all those who have said nice things about the bow and/or wished me well on my trip. This is a great site with many wonderful people.

Allan,
I hear you on the low weight and lot's of arrows. I shot our local 30 target 3D course twice on Friday (can't beat a $100 annual membership for all the shooting you want and 15 minutes from the house on one of the finest courses in MI) and I really appreciate that bow weight these days.

As mentioned above, enjoy your trip and we'll be waiting to hear your story.

Ray, where are you shooting?

Eric,

Dan and Donna Krogel have the Woodswalk Archery Range in Williamsburg.  It's a great course through the woods and has some longer shots (about 45 yards-if you desire)to test your skill. They're great people. They have nice targets and the fee is $10 per visit if you don't buy the annual membership. They have the course set from sometime in April till the last day of September.

Well, it is probably more like 70# since you are drawing it 30"

Any care considerations with materials like buffalo horn?  Can you get that setup in a 60# bow?
