Thinking about having a two piece longbow built, which system seems to be the best, the bow-bolt, or the take-down sleeve. Thanks in advance for any info.

The bow bolt is awesome. The fit is so tight and clean, you wont even realize it is a 2 piece bow when assembled.

thanks for asking this postman
I've been wondering the same thing as I am also considering a 2 piece.

Does the grip have to be larger in diameter for the bolt system?

Which one adds more weight or are they about the same? I'm not saying a little added weight is bad.

One thing I notice is that the bow bolt will result in a seam in your grip area while the sleeve does not.

Big Jim's sleeve is undetectable when the bow is assembled. No added weight with that system.

I like the sleeve, have one from Bigjim and one from Black Widow. They are both rock solid and the bows look like one-piece.

The Black Widow/Big Jim/ACS (others?) -style two-piece sleeve is excellent.  Easy to take apart and put together, no threads to cross, invisible,  and very strong.  I put a little wax on mine every now and then and it stays nice and tight.
Life is a whole lot easier when you just plow around the stump.

Yep, I have a BW with the sleeve style and you'd never know the thing comes apart.  Shoots awesome too.

I'd pick the sleeve if you don't want micarta in the handle.  The sleeve would allow a wood riser.

I love a carbon sleeve in my 2pc bows. These are by Nate at BamaBows.

Another vote for the Big Jim's sleeve system
I have two of his 2 pieces, perfect system

I like the sleeve system over the bow bolt.

I've also had one of Nate Steele's (Bama Bows) carbon sleeves on a bow and it was amazing. Couldn't tell it was a takedown. The fit was super tight and the feel was as good as a one piece (near as I could tell). It's also pretty affordable comparably to the prices of other bowyers.

I have a BigJIm TC with the locket socket System and it works flawlessly. You wont see its a TD unless aou take it apart and you wont notice any difference in feel once its strung.

That said, im waiting for a bow with a connexion hinge and am sure it will be fine also, but it will be visible on the assembled bow.

Bullet proof and invisible!!!

Be sure of the type of sleeve. They are not all the same. I have a Chastain Spike with a sleeve and hate it. Kind of like holding a 2x4.

The BowBolt is a great system, but so is the Locket Socket system. Pick either one if you like the bow it connects.
