I just purchased a Marriah Chinook Longbow from a guy and was wondering if anyone out there has any experiences with them.  I own several Marriah recurves but this is my first venture down the road of a "D" shaped longbow.  Specs on bow are 60", 55#@28".  Appreciate any input you all might have...

I had one for a few years. It was a nice bow. The riser cracked, and Rick insisted on replacing it. It took about a year to replace, but he made good on his word. I'm not sure if he is still building bows actively, I don't hear much about them anymore.

I saw the thread and was going to ask the sme thing.

He used to live here in the Flathead.  He pretty much dropped off the scene.  I never shot any of his boys, I knew too many guys with Schafers.  I did like the looks of his longbows though.

What ever happened to Rick?

I had one for a few years, it was the prettiest bow I have owned.  It just didn't work for me.  I think it shot pretty slow compared to my other longbows and the grip didn't fit me, I didn't wamt to change anything on it because it was such a work of art, that said I sold it.

I have 3 of Ric's Chinook Longbows all are great shooters. I love the grip and the mass of the riser.
For me they just point and shoot great.

I appreciate everyone's input.  I have always shot recurves and actually have a number of Ric's recurve Thermals.  They are a great bow and shoot just as nice as they look.  My bow should arrive in the next week or so and am anxious to try it out.

Ric Anderson moved and is building a home and new shop.  In a thread that I started back in January regarding Ric, he chimed in and stated that he was thinking about getting back into building bows again.  I will let you all read it for yourself.  Search under Pow Wow, Marriah Bows and the thread started in January of this year.

IMHO they are some of the nicest bows that have been built.

If you have seen his web site Mine is the one he shows as an example.  I love it. I have a lot of other bows but I keep coming back to my chinook.

Pete, what website? I can't find a website for Marriah bows. If you have the web address for Ric's site it would nice if you would post it for the rest of us.
