New to Trad archery and was wondering of some ways to cut aluminum shafts.

I am thinking a pipe cutter with extra emphasis on being delicate.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated and welcome.

Thanks, Craig

I use a cheap 2" mini chop saw I picked up from Harbor Frieght. I would think a tubing cutter would work if you took your time.

Works like a charm. Use one arrow for reference when lining up to the blade and start to spin. Tighten a bit and spin a few more times. It doesn't take much and for the limited number of shafts I cut it works just fine.

Yep, a tubing cutter does the trick.  I don't cut enough shafts to make a cut-off saw worth the expense.  I've used the same cheap-o tubing cutter for 6-7 years now.
Life is a whole lot easier when you just plow around the stump.

I have both and prefer the tubing cutter. The cuts are straighter and it only takes a few minutes to cut a dozen shafts.

I've used a tubing cutter for years now, works fine. Might want to insert a metal rod (can't remember what it's called) into your shaft so you don't crush the thing while cuttin'. I think 3 Rivers sells them.

You can use an appropriate size drill bit inside the arrow as a mandril to cut against. Works great.

I've been cutting them with a tubing cutter for many years no problems.

Ditto on the tubing cutter.  Just go easy.  I bought one of the mini cut off tools from Harbor Fright and it was a waste of money.  I must have got a bad one.

Tubing cutters work great! I would recommend what others have mentioned about the rod inside...don't take much to roll the edge. I also take a small file and nock off the burr. Good to go!

small tublng cutter here too. I'll de-burr the arrow with my hand de-burring tool for shell casings.

I bought a saw at a swap meet at the gun club.
All set up and only 20 dollars.
I had to get lucky SOMETIME!

I use the Harbor Freight chop 2" chop saw. About 24 bucks. Does a great job on aluminum and carbons.
