I talked to Matt on the phone and picked his brain about wood arrows for way to many minutes and probably way to many stupid questions but the finished product is amazing.  Poplar arrows 65-70 spine I kept them at 29" (even though I shoot 26" and I was scared to keep cutting) and they fly perfect, around 650gr(shocked the hell outta me)

This was my first attempt at cresting and staining but there is something special about an arrow you make yourself and watching it fly. Everybody was right about wood, so much so that the 50 or so CE Heritage arrows are going to have a hard time sticking around.

No longer shoot wood myself, but these air-dried custom doweled shafts sure are tempting from all the grand things I hear about their toughness and straightness! Finding modern stable wood arrows that stay straight and don't have run-out, are why I went to carbon!

Matt got it all goin on... grab while they are hot!

And another one gets the dreaded "Woodie" virus. You can only treat the symptoms, 'cause there just ain't no cure. Nice looking arrows.

I definitly got the virus.  It takes some hours to get them finished but it is very worth it.  I think I need to pay more attention to trying to get a slicker finish on them, they are a little loud on my arrow rest material but my fault.  Live and learn

You can try 0000 steel wool to smooth them down. It will dull the finish for hunting too if you're into that sort of thing...
