I was wondering what the correct wing of feathers to buy, I have people say go opposite of what you are and some have said stay the same. By this I mean if you are right handed, shoot right wing feathers or shoot left wing. And do you match a single bevel broad head to  your feathers? I really appreciate the help.
Thanks,
Andrew

I have not found much difference between shooting right vs. left wing feathers (I shoot right handed).  It does make sense though to match your fletching and your broadhead bevel (for single bevel). It makes sense to have it all rotating the same direction.  Good luck.

Thanks I have not shot rw feathers. Im a right handed shooter and have lw feathers. Does a helical make a differance?

feathers dont matter either way. but you for sure want to match the bevel on the bh to your feathers.

Right wing with right bevel...and left wing with left bevel.

You need some degree of helical or offset with any broadhead.

Whether you are left or right handed don't matter...I'm right handed and shoot right wing....wouldn't matter a hill of beans if I shot left wing.

It really depends on what you're shooting. If your arrow is raised far enough above your hand you shouldn't have an issue. As a right handed shooter, when I shoot right wing feathers I occasionally have to dig pieces of quill out of my finger. But my hand is almost even with my rest.

As far as the broadhead, a single bevel will spin the arrow in one direction. Your fletching should not counteract that.

Better than what??  I like one make of single bevel bh, because I can really get it sharp.  You just have to try some and see what works for you.  One thing about broadheads, no one has an opinion about which ones are best.

JamesKerr

Always use the same fletching that your bevel is on your broadhead. Left bevel=Left wing Right bevel=Right wing.

Old Chief, I meant better than a normal bh. Single bevel means only a certain plain of the bh is sharpened? Please correct me if I am wrong, I am only baseing that off observation

Better is not really a term that applys here.  If you plan to hunt water buffalo then it might be better for that purpose.  If your hunting deer size game.  Shoot what you like, they all work great.  Definately shoot right helic with right single bevel heads.  You want the arrow turning the same direction as the bevel to increase penetration.

Thank you Clay, I have been confused on what exactly the benefits are.

I shoot single bevels as do my wife and daughter.  They both hunt elk with 40 lb bows.  They need the added penetration advantage of the single bevel head and optimized arrows to ensure a clean kill.

I'm right handed and shoot left wing feather, single left hand bevel broadheads.  Just match bevel with the feathers and you should be good.  As far as right vs left wing, doesn't make a bit of difference to me I shoot them equally well.  The biggest batch of feathers I ordered were left wing so I bought a left wing jig and now I just stick with it.  Works great for me!

AZ, did not mean to leave you hanging, missed your question.  Like everyone has stated, match the bevel to your feathers.  Now which one is better?  That is something you need to determine.

I shot double bevel broadheads for years and they work.  I started using single bevels a few years ago and they seem to work better for me.

I can get double bevel broadheads shaving sharp, but there is a single bevel I can get sharper.  I have not killed the number of animals with a single bevel as I have a double, but they seem to be working much better for "ME".

In my "opinion" and with my "experiences", the single bevel is working better for me.

Hope that helps
