Had to do another version so people who use solely a recurve or longbow could vote.

Will add the results together so please vote

I thought it would depend on the length of the bow not hunter preference?

Would you be better off asking how long is your bow?

That's kinda what I was thinking too, when I read the first one.

The poll is not asking for a preference.  It is an objective measurement.  You measure your bow string and that is enter it into the poll.

Bows that are the same length could very well have different brace heights.  So the bottom line is the string length and for a string maker that is the measurement needed.

I currently have 30 +/- different strings for 24 +/- different bows.

I make a lot of bowstrings and it really is not subjective. You make a recurve string 4 inches shorter than the bow and 3 inches shorter for a longbow.

I'm glad to see another version of the poll. For  those of us who shoot recurves or longbows only and not the other, I thank you.

I always thought it was 4" shorter for recurve and 3" shorter for a LB also.

every single one of my strings go from one end of the bow clear to the other.

For string length, the above is the general rule of thumb I go by.
