I hope this isn't too off-topic.  After reading a recent post about posting pictures, I thought I'd throw this together for those of us that aren't as computer savvy as others.  This should help anyone trying to post pictures from PhotoBucket.

First, you need to get your digital pictures in your PhotoBucket album.  To do so, simply click the green Upload button which appears on nearly every screen once you're logged into PhotoBucket.

Click the green Select photos and videos button and browse your computer to the picture you're trying to post.

You should then see a message that your upload was successful.

Click the View album button in that message.

Next, click the picture you want to post.  You'll get a new screen with the picture, scaled to fit the window.  If you hover your mouse at the top edge of the picture, a number of options open up for you.  Move your mouse to the Resize option and you'll get a drop-down menu.  Click the 640x480 option and confirm the change when the prompt appears.

(My example is smaller than 640x480 so only smaller options are shown)
If you have multiple pictures to resize, use the Next and/or Previous buttons to move between pictures and repeat the Resize option for each.  When you're finished resizing the pictures, click the Album link near the top.  You'll see all the pictures in your PhotoBucket album.

Now that your pictures are hosted by PhotoBucket and are sized in accordance with TradGang restrictions, let's get them in your post...

Now to post the picture to TradGang

I find it easiest to open a new Internet Explorer (or Safari, Firefox, Chrome, etc) for TradGang.  You should have a File menu at the top of your browser screen.  Choose File - New Window and go to TradGang.

Start a new topic or edit your original post by clicking the      button.

Move your cursor to where you want the picture.  Now, go back to the PhotoBucket window, hover over the picture you want to post and click inside the box next to Direct link.

You will momentarily see the address change to the word "Copied".

Go back to your TradGang window.  Click the Image button in the "Instant UBB Code" section below your post.

When you see the following pop-up window, use Ctrl+V to paste the link you just copied into the text field.  (Mac users use command+V)

Like this:

Click Ok and you will see new text in your post which includes the code and URL (web address) of your picture.  Click the Preview Post button and you should see the picture in all its glory.

Granted, there are a LOT of steps to get this accomplished but with a little repetition, you'll find it's not overly difficult.

Again, sorry if this is off-topic but I thought I'd give it a shot anyway.  I had nothing more productive to do over the lunch hour.    ;)

If you click on the IMG code it will say copied, then go to trad gang and in you post you are making, right click where you want the pic and click paste, done.

You can also go to the upload page in Photobucket, go to settings and check 640-480 and all photos uploaded to photobucket will upload at that size then no need to resize once in photobucket.

Thanks for the info. But there is no way that I could do that.(that is without throwing the computer)

David Mitchell

yep, I do it the way wtpops does it.  And believe me, if I can learn to do it anybody can.  I am NOT a techie sort of guy.

Stupid  ? time. How do you get picture from camera to computer ?  Really showing off my lack of computer skills.

send them to your e-mail or load them with a usb cable attatched to your phone, camera,?

Barney

I'm pretty sure Rob D. already did this a while back. Should still be in the TradGang computer section.

Flingblade

Let me be the first to say thanks Rusty for posting this.  I've posted pictures a few times on trad gang but every time I do I need a refresher course as too much time has gone by since my last success in the field.  Well done.

Rusty and WTPOPS, Thank you for your considerate post. This will really help me quite a bit.

the elf, My computer has a slot to insert my camera card directly into my computer and load the pics.  Have you checked on that?

Now I know why I haven't been able to post a picture for the past 9 years. I can't even figure out how to get registered on Photobucket, let alone all the rest of that.
